Job description:

We are currently recruiting for a Production Operative on a permanent basis to work for a reputable global employer within Haverhill. This will be to work on permanent 3pm – 11pm, Sunday – Thursday shift basis.

This is an attractive position that requires you to prepare, operate and maintain DNA Synthesis in order to meet department KPI’s.

  • Productivity - Use time efficiently to ensure a high level of productivity
  • Quality - Perform process checks. Monitor and record progress/results. Report inconsistencies and failures
  • Communication and Documentation - Inform supervisor and document all instrument problems. Inform oncoming operators of work in progress status. Actively participate during team discussions
  • Problem Solving and Job Knowledge - Knowledge of DNA synthesis chemistry. Identify problems before, during, and after synthesis and be involved in the trouble shooting process
  • Adaptability - Learn and apply new skills within expected time periods. Adapt quickly to changes in processes and protocols. Accept criticism and feedback concerning work performance. Prioritise tasks in order to meet the department KPI's
  • Cooperation - Assist and offer support to co-workers. Maintain a positive and pleasant manner.  Resolve conflicts within a timely manner. Exhibit tact and consideration to all employees
  • Process Improvement - Submit ideas for cost and resource reduction

Who you are:

  • A Level(s) in Science/Maths or equivalent (preferable)
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience, within a laboratory environment (essential)
  • Computer literacy - Microsoft Excel and other database systems (essential)
  • Some knowledge of ISO or similar QMS (preferable).

Additional needs:

  • Laboratory based. The employee may frequently work near moving mechanical parts, be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  •  Manual dexterity required to handle materials and operate machinery. High attention to detain in written or numerical form
  • Some degree of flexibility within the required working hours is expected.

The successful Production Operative can expect a competitive salary of £20,000 pa + 33% shift allowance (£26,600 pa).
