Purchasing Assistant

We are currently looking, for an experienced Purchasing Assistant / Buyer to work for our Manufacturing Client in their busy offices in Waterbeach.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that will really provide an excellent opportunity for the right candidate with the company in a strong place in its existing market.

This role is full-time, working Monday to Friday- 37,5 hours a week, but our Client would be happy to consider 4 days a week and a smaller amount of hours if required.

 

Duties Include:

  • Dealing with key suppliers to ensure suitable materials and products are sourced at a competitive rate
  • Liaising with the manufacturing team to ensure material and stock levels remain satisfactory
  • Assisting with all Purchasing based administration as required
  • Occasional supporting of the Sales and Accounts team as needed.

 

Person Specification:

  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Confident communicator, able to negotiate as required
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent IT skills

 

Excellent Microsoft office skills are, of course, essential and previous purchasing experience would be an advantage. The successful candidate must be physically fit and be able to lift and carry up to 15kgs. Due to the location, the ability to drive and own transport is required.

 

The Rate of Pay and Benefits included:

  • £25 - £27K per year, plus an annual performance bonus of between £2,100 and £2,250

  • Working from home on Monday and Friday (after probationary period) rest of the week based in Waterbeach.
