Crem Recruitment are pleased to be working with an excellent local employer looking to fill a supervisory role. This role involves a high degree of Health and Safety in day to day operations, this role would suit someone with knowledge / experience from a practical health and safety background, supervisory experience in production / factory work or from a plant / construction background. Knowledge of maintenance of machinery and cleaning during shutdowns would also be beneficial though not essential as training can be provided.

Reporting to the site Manager, as a Supervisor you will be supervising the team to

manage the safe and efficient running of the plant, complete day to day operations to

achieve maximum output, whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that safe working practises and procedures are adhered to within all areas of work.

• Effectively manage shift rota to include pre planned overtime.

• Ensure the team are competent technically and support training needs as required.

• Identify improvement plans and targets for the team.

• Prepare and present reports, maintaining appropriate records within recognised systems.

• Ensure the receiving of all materials are carried out as per procedures.

• Oversee and complete sampling routines to ensure quality, including from each arriving load of raw material, ensuring they satisfy the contract.

• Complete operational cleaning activities, as directed during outage periods.

• Complete routine and non-routine operational maintenance activities as directed and in line

with the approved processes and procedures.

• Oversee the control movement of vehicles around the site.

• Oversee the procedure of safe unloading operations of delivery lorries.

• Monitor the fuel distribution / running of the plant.

• Complete daily equipment checks.

• Investigate plant problems alongside the PTL/Line Manager, identify solutions and

undertake routine and non-routine maintenance.

• Drafting/reviewing of SOPs and LMI’s for Area of Responsibility.

• Involvement with drafting appraisal reports for Team Members.

The successful candidate will be joining our team, which works a shift system covering 05:30 –20:00 Monday to Friday predominantly based on a day shift with occasional shifts, as well as weekend cover on a rotational basis. You will have proven supervisory/team leader experience within a production based environment with good verbal and written communication skills and be competent IT user. This position requires a high degree of flexibility, self-motivation and the ability to work well as part of a team.
